Shichijo's Prize

This prize is named after Emeritus Professor Kojiro Shichijo (Gunma University) and is awarded to a researcher who has accomplished a great achievement in thyroid research during the past several years. Applicants must be less than 45 years old. The winner will be invited to present an honorary lecture at the Annual Meeting.

Miyake's Prize

This prize is named after Emeritus Professor Tadashi Miyake (Kyoto University) and is awarded to an individual (or a group) who has accomplished a great achievement in thyroid research or in the education of young investigators. The winner will be invited to present an honorary lecture on their chosen aspect of thyroid research at the Annual Meeting.

Young Investigator Award (YIA)

The Japan Thyroid Association (JTA) created this award to recognize outstanding abstracts submitted at the Annual Meeting by young JTA members aged less than 40. Applicants should be the first and presenting authors of the abstracts. The selection committee convenes before the Meeting and nominates eight candidates. After a presentation at the Meeting, five of them will be awarded 80,000 yen as an honorarium and the others 30,000 yen as a travel award.

Thyroid Basic Research Award

The Thyroid Basic Research Award was established to promote active and continuous development of basic or experimental thyroid research in Japan. The winner is selected from the applicants by peer review. They must have been a member of the JTA for at least 3 years and be aged less than 50. The winner is awarded 500,000 yen.

Cosmic Research Award

The Cosmic Research Award was established to promote the practical application of thyroid research to care for patients with thyroid diseases. The winner is preferably a patent holder on a product of thyroid research and is awarded 300,000 yen.
